Hours & minutes calculator
Add or subtract hours, minutes and seconds with a time calculator built for ordinary duration math. Totals can stay above 24 hours, and results include decimal hours.
1.5 hours = 1 hour 30 minutes. No signup. Calculations stay in this page; this build has no input storage or analytics.
Time arithmetic without the guesswork
Minutes and seconds use base 60, not base 100. Adding 1 hour 45 minutes to 30 minutes gives 2 hours 15 minutes. The calculator handles the carry automatically.
These inputs are lengths of time. For a start and end clock reading, use the time duration calculator. For a longer list, use the hours calculator. To convert a minute total such as 90 or 1,520 minutes, use the minutes to hours calculator. For a full workweek with overtime, use the time card calculator.
Can I add more than 24 hours?
Yes. 23 hours 45 minutes plus 2 hours 30 minutes is 26 hours 15 minutes. Duration totals do not wrap around midnight.
What does a negative result mean?
You subtracted a longer duration from a shorter one. Minus 1 hour is a duration difference, not 11 PM.
